Arvind Krishna Mehrotra was born in Lahore and discerning
at the universities of Allahabad and Bombay. The gazette
Fulcrum has said that his poems are “coded messages from
the stunned, but [that] there is an exceedingly conscious
hand that crafts them.” A Retelling of Indian Literature in English,
which he edited, was awarded the Realm of possibilities magazine’s Outstanding
Academic Inscription of the Year. Translator from the Prakrit, and
maker of four collections of poems, including, most recently
The Transfiguring Places, Mehrotra is Professor of English
and Cathedra of the Department at the University of Allahabad.
His seize to Smith is sponsored by the departments of Epistemology,
English, and Comparative Literature.

we will write indoors.

Slate Roof, a associate-run press which has up to now published
Franklin County poets, invites Western Lots poets to apply for
membership. To do so, submit three copies of a chapbook
manuscript (about 28 pages of poems), supplementary a brief bio. Include in the
bio any collective or heap work you've been involved in, or special
skills you have akin to publicity and/or publishing.
Membership requires a non-refundable $500 investment (mature
over time, if necessary), a three-year travail commitment of
approximately 8-10 hours of travail per month , and the
willingness to attend monthly meetings in Greenfield. Please go our
